Facilities

A) DRAWING:The school encourages the students to appear for the Elementary and Intermediate Grade Dr Examinations, which are held in September/ October each year. Special coaching is given to tale students in this field.

B) SPORTS/GYMKHANA/ GYMNASIUM:The school provides all suitable outdoor and indoor games not only to students who have show talent in some branch of sports but also to all other students for motivating and braving them in sports.Management has appointed expert/ special coach are for each game to train promising studen to groom them up for the District/ State/ National Levels.
A well-equipped Govt. Certified Gymnasium has been set up for the students. The Gymnasium is kept open from 7.00 a.m. to 7.00 p.m. Students should contact the Gymnasium In-charge and register their names.

C) VACATION SPORTS CAMPS:School PT teachers organize Sports Camps during Diwali and Summer vacations every year on topics like Band, Swimming, Karate and also Camps on student development activities. Active participation by the students are ensured by the Camps-in-Charge. 

D) SPORTS CLUB:The club takes up activities to bring up the boys and girls of our High School over and above extending its facilities for Jr. College too in games in which they have special aptitude. This club is besides the regular coaching imparted in other indoor/outdoor games and sports activities conducted on school routine.

E) NATIONAL SPORTS/YOGA ACADEMY :The students should have good control over physical and mental health to win over in competition test examinations and all such events. Yoga Academy was started with these benefits in mind.

F) SVB SCHOOL OF SPORTS:
A first of its kind for educational institutions in Maharashtra, the institution has opened a School of Sports in the Dombivli campus of the Education group to impart specialization to interested students in various indoor and outdoor games. The school is staffed by expert coaches/ instructors. This school functions under the guidance of Edith Cowan University, Australia on international module. The sports school was inaugurated at the Holy Hands of Jagadguru Sankaracharya on 24th January, 2011.

H) ACADEMIC TALENT PARADE:Talent Parade and standard-wise activities are conducted twice a year synchronizing with the term, enabling our students to display their gifted talent and acquired expertise.

I) ACADEMIC FEST:

From the academic year 2014-2015, academic fest is organized to revise the lesson on the Syllabus for Examinations. The School, striving to bring out the best of student’s skills in academic, creativities etc. gets this good forum to demonstrate their skill based attainments of students. The academic fest is witnessed by the parents.

J) STUDENTS’ WELFARE FUND:
The school has established a ‘Students’ Welfare Fund’ to rend. Financial assistance to deserving students. Interested parents/ guardians of deserving students are advised to submit their applications for required monetary assistance in prescribed form available in the school office.
In recent past, substantial grants have been given to students for treatment of cancer, kidney, brain-tumor etc. The ailing students have now joined the normal stream of life after recovery.

K) NES-SVB STAFF AND STUDENT WELFARE CORPUS FUND: A corpus fund is raised by the NES-SVB group to render financial assistance to the deserving staff and students facing medical problem.

L) SCHOOL LIBRARY:
The School Library is well stocked with text books and allied works for reference. A good number of periodicals and magazines including selected foreign journals are available for students as well as teachers.

SCHOOL AWARDS - COMMON CONDITIONS

a) Regular attendance, satisfactory progress and good conduct are the primary conditions to be eligible for any award.

b) Failure to pass in examination / evaluation or absence from any examination / evaluation or withdrawal from the school will disqualify a student from any award.

c) In case a student is debarred from receiving an award, the next student, who fulfills the conditions will be entitled to the award.

SCHOLARSHIPS/ AWARDS

a) Smt. Saraswathi V. Memorial Award: Awarded to deserving students who does exemplary work in the field of Academic, Sports, Cultural and Fine Arts, the award is instituted in the memory of the Saraswathi Vidya Bhavan’s Treasurer, Late Smt. Saraswathi V. and wife of our Founder-President, Dr. R. Varadarajan who passed away on 19th July, 2007.

b) Shri. S. V. Ramakrishnan Memorial Scholarship Awarded Primary and Secondary section. The award is in memory to two deserving students, one each in of the Society’s late President Shri. S. V.
Ramakrishnan, who passed away on 22nd February, 1978
c) Sports Scholarship: Freeships are awarded by the Management to two students in consideration of sports ability, one each in Primary and Secondary sections, as per the recommendation of the respective Sports Committees.


LIST OF PRIZES

A Trophy and a certificate of merit are awarded to the student, who scores highest marks in each standard. Prizes are also awarded every year for dance, fancy dress, essay writing, handwriting, general knowledge. drawing, elocution and quiz contests. Certificate of Appreciation for cent percent attendance is awarded to the students of all standards.

Unique features of the school

 

The school is in the process of creating for itself a richer heritage. Each student is a participant in thi great effort. He/ she should see that every day he/she is enriching the glorious heritage of the institution in the following ways:

a) PRAYER: The school starts with Prayer and “National Anthem”. The School ends day’s work with National Song, “Vande Mataram The Prayers and National Anthem are rendered w absolute patriotic, devotion and respect.

 

b)THE SCHOOL FLAG: The School Flag is blue in colour displaying school emblem in the centre The school honour its own Flag as it honour the National Flag.

 

c) CONVOCATION:
Few gestures of appreciation, here and there encourages the young ones to a very great extent. The thoughtful Founder of the institution introduced this systern of holdinga Convocation for the students passing out from Kindergarten to primary level and also those from Primary to Secondary level, emulating the practice of convocation held in the Universities for conferring the degree of Graduation. This system has not only been going a long way in inspiring the young ones for more dedicated studies but has also been infusing a sense of responsibility and creating a feeling that the child is one important cog in the wheel of Along with convocation a valuable certificate achievement.is awarded in recognition of the child’s achievement.It will be interesting to watch the young ones with the convocation dress and the achievement folders rolled in their hands.

d) ACHIEVEMENT FOLDER:
A folder highly contributing to a students feeling as the responsible and valuable living constituent of the school and of the seriousness of the result day event is delivered to each student. Our institution has minced no time to introduce this Achievement Folder system which is handed over to each student of Std, IV on the day of Convocation. The Achievement Folder contains a class photograph, President’s message, best wishes of teachers, progress card and a convocation certificate.

 

STAR SYSTEM:
In order to bring in excellence among students “Star System of appreciation has been introduced. The students who are Rank Holders in studies are awarded Star Scholar. The students who are well disciplined are awarded Star-Disciplinarian. The students who converse well in English are awarded Star-Speaker and those who perform very well in all spheres are awarded Star-All Rounder.

MONTHLY PRIZE DISTRIBUTION PROGRAMME:
It is conducted on the last working day of each month to encourage students for participation in various activities and develop healthy competitive spirit. A parent member of P.T.A. is invited as the Chief Guest. Every good deed is recognized, since the smallest of good deed is better than the greatest of bigintentions/ promises.

SPEAKERS ACADEMY:
In order to motivate students to converse in English, class-wise Speakers Academy has been formed. Students, who converse well in English are members of this Academy. These student-members lead the other students of the class to speak in English. Under its coverage “Leaders Speak” programme is introduced during the intervening time between two periods and conducted under the supervision of class teacher.

h) BRITISH COUNCIL DIPLOMA COURSE:
British Council Diploma course (English language) has been introduced to enable the students to attempt the various levels of tests viz Young Learners of English (YLE), Key English Test (KET) and Proficiency in English Test (PET) prescribed by the Cambridge University, U.K..

SCHOOL PUBLICATION

I) SVBYOUNG EXPRESSION Our School has been bringing out a monthly magazine aptly titled “SVB Young Expression for the students to inculcate in them a reading habit and give exposure to their talents. Parents are advised to encourage their wards to contribute articles/ poems/drawings/paintings etc. for publication in “SVB Young Expression.”

II) CLASS MAGAZINE: Every class is to bring out a class magazine, the class teacher functioning as the Chief Editor. This magazine is to be submitted to school office within a week after Christmas vacation Le. by 10th of January. Prizes are awarded to the selected magazines on 26th January (Republic Day) Best articles are selected and published in “SVB Young Expression.”
